Fans on Twitter erupted in joy after South African batter Heinrich Klaasen smashed a solid ton in match 20 of the ICC World Cup 2023. The batter achieved the feat against England at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday (21st October). 

South Africa were asked to bat first and they were exceptional with the bat. Even though Quinton de Kock (4) lost his wicket early, Rassie van der Dussen (60), Reeza Hendricks (85), and Aiden Markam (42) batted staggeringly well. 

But the real blitz came from the bat of Heinrich Klaasen. The keeper-batter came out with great intent and made sure that he utilized his form to a great extent. He played some breathtaking strokes and made sure that his side stayed in the game even though wickets fell in quick succession at the other end. 

Heinrich Klaasen timed the ball to perfection and with the way he played he was sensational. Not only the spinners but he also took fast bowlers to cleaners and made them look clueless. The right-hander batted aggressively and all throughout and put on an exhibition. 

Heinrich Klaasen brought his ton in just 61 balls and asserted his authority all over the bowlers. The keeper-batter batted with a strike rate of around 165 and along with Marco Jansen outplayed the opposition in the game. 

The duo together added over 150 runs for the partnership and made sure that South Africa put a gigantic total on the board. Heinrich Klaasen despite battling cramps has been magnificent and has kept the intensity high. The hot weather in Mumbai exhausted him but he was electric. 

Heinrich Klaasen ended with the knock of 109 off 67 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 162.69 and also smashed 12 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. His innings helped South Africa post 399 runs on the board.
