South Africa take on England in the third and final T20I of the three-match series. The series is level at 1-1with the decider to be played in Southampton. Both teams then play a three-match Test series in August-September.

South Africa scored 207/3 on the back of Rilee Rossouw‘s unbeaten 96. Reeza Hendricks also scored 53 off 32 balls at the top. Protean skipper David Miller hailed Rossouw’s knock and lauded the overall batting performance of the team.

“A good turn around for us. A great performance. We had one or two meetings to clear up from last night. We picked ourselves up. I am really chuffed with the bowlers. They made it easier for me by picking up wickets. I wasn’t juggling around too much as they executed really well. Massive boundary out there. It was a left-right combination that we had to keep in mind” said Miller.

England skipper Jos Buttler, on the other hand, lamented his side’s faltering batting performance in the second T20I. They piled up 234 in the first T20I but were bowled out for 149 in the second. He also blamed his batters for not capitalising on the starts they got. They need their batting lineup to click if they want to win the decider in Southampton.

“So many of us including me got starts but didn’t convert it like Rilee. We haven’t played to the level we are known to play for. Individually as well collectively we need to improve. It should be a great decider at Ageas Bowl” Buttler said.

The final T20I starts from 7 pm IST which is 2.30 pm local time. The afternoon weather will be partly sunny with a few spells of showers in between. The temperature will be around 24-25 degrees with a good chance of rain playing spoilsport.

So far the Rose Bowl has hosted 10 T20Is with six matches won by the team batting first and four batting second. The average first innings score is 171 which drops down close to 150 in the second innings. With big-hitters on both sides and Southampton’s reputation as a batting-friendly ground, the decider can be expected to be a high-scoring encounter.
