India vs England fourth Test in Manchester is a crucial one for India in the series as they were 1-2 down before making it to Old Trafford, a venue where they have lost the majority of their games and are yet to claim a Test victory.
India, in a do-or-die Test, have struggled to score runs on a flat track, as the ball has played its own tricks, which have taken the players by surprise. England scored 669 in return, which further raised eyebrows on the ball's uneven behaviour.
Several claims have now been made that England are possibly causing some damage to the ball, which has resulted in the sudden change of the behaviour of the ball.

English bowler Brydon Carse bowled to Shubman Gill during the second innings at Manchester, and the batter dominated with some fluent hits that went racing to the boundary.
After playing a great hand, Shubman Gill's splendid innings was stopped when Brydon Carse stepped on the ball with his spikes. This caused the ball's texture to be disturbed before it was used wisely against the Indian batters.

England batters scored 669 on the same Manchester track
English batters scored a promising 669 runs when they batted on the same track where India were bowled out for 358.
English openers started off well with Crawley and Duckett posing as great openers who nearly scored two hundreds. The remaining was chased by Joe Root as he, alongside Stokes and Ollie Pope, took England off to a promising 669, which left India with a trail of 311 runs.
This raised doubts in the minds of several cricket fans as the Indian bowlers did not find help from the pitch as much as the English bowlers.
After the first innings, India struggled in the second innings
Indian batters got off to a good start in the first innings, as Jaiswal and KL Rahul took India wicketless till lunch.
However, the Indian innings collapsed till lunch, as a result of which they were bowled out for just 358 runs.
What emerged as an even further concern for the Indian team was the injury of Rishabh Pant that ruled him out of the remainder of the series.
Coming in to bat in the second innings, India lost two wickets for 0 before KL Rahul and Shubman Gill played promising knocks.
The pair showed patience and composure as Rahul batted for the entire remaining day and got out in the first session of Day 5. Gill eventually scored a promising hundred.
Both these batters played for 421 balls, which emerged as a major record held by any Indian batting pair. India are now trailing by 21 runs until drinks in the second session.
