Former England skipper Michael Vaughan believes that the Eoin Morgan-led unit has put themselves in pole position to win the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

The ICC T20 World Cup will take place in the UAE and Oman between October 17-November 14.

England have been placed in Group 1  alongside defending champions West Indies, South Africa, and Australia.

The former T20 world champions, England, have been one of the best sides in the shortest format of the game in the past 3-4 years.

Since the last T20 World Cup where they agonizingly lost to the West Indies in the final, the No.1 ranked side has just lost three T20I bilateral rubbers- all of them against India (in 2017, 2018, and 2021).

The Eoin Morgan-led unit is currently locking horns with Pakistan in a three-match T20I series where they made a brilliant comeback in the second game to draw level the series 1-1.

Speaking after the home side registered a 45-run win over Pakistan at Leeds, Michael Vaughan said that the Eoin Morgan-led unit have got all the bases covered and they are in a great position of regaining the coveted trophy after a gap of 11 years.

“England have put themselves in a great position [to win the T20 World Cup because they’ve got absolutely everything covered,” Michael Vaughan said.

Liam Livingstone has proved to be the MVP for England in the ongoing T20I series. The Lancashire lad made heads turn in the first game as he smashed a belligerent hundred- the fastest by an Englishman in the format.

Livingstone is making a strong case for himself to be included in England’s squad for the World Cup.

And, Vaughan, was lavish in his praise for the talented youngsters.

He’s becoming a class act. The hundred he got on Friday will have given him a huge amount of confidence and he was well on his way again today before he was run out. He’s one we’re going to see a lot of over the next few years.” said Vaughan.
