England have also announced their squad for the Women's T20 World Cup after Australia, India, and Pakistan.
Heather Knight is all set to lead the English team in another important ICC assignment. They kick off their World Cup campaign against Bangladesh on October 5 in Sharjah.
England have named Freya Kemp and Bess Heath in their 15-player squad for the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Danielle Gibson is also selected for her first World Cup, to be played in the UAE in October, but there was no room was fast bowler Lauren Filer.
Mahika Gaur, left-arm seamer who was unable to push harder for World Cup selection due to a combination of injury and school commitments, is included in the T20I group to tour Ireland.
Before traveling to the UAE, the English team will play a white-ball series against Ireland where they will be led by Kate Cross, the pacer.
Meanwhile, they have a good mix of youth and experience for the T20 World Cup squad. Knight along with the likes of Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauran Bell, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Danni Wyatt provide a lot of experience to that squad.
The ICC shifted the tournament out of Bangladesh to the UAE following the social and political turmoil in the country.
The matches will be played in Dubai and Sharjah with the final on October 20 in Dubai. The first semi-final will be played in Dubai on October 17 followed by the second semi-final on October 18 in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, the English head coach Jon Lewis spoke about the overall strength of the squad saying that the squad looks like a balanced one and the players who missed out on selection are just unfortunate.
"Selecting teams and squads with this group of players has become incredibly tricky and tough. There are players who have been really unfortunate to miss out and they'll be a big part of what we do with England Cricket in the future" England's head coach, Jon Lewis, said.
"I feel the 15 players selected give us a really well-balanced squad in terms of experience, youth, and most importantly the skills to cope and excel in the conditions we feel we will be faced with in the UAE" he added further.
England skipper Heather Knight spoke about her excitement to lead in a World Cup event once again and said that the entire squad is looking forward to the tournament as well. England have won the tournament just once in 2009. Australia have won the title six times (2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2023) and West Indies once in 2016.
"World Cups are always special events to be involved in as a player and I'm really excited by the squad we have selected to take over to the UAE. It's an honor to lead the team into another World Cup. We're looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead" she said.
