Moeen Ali had been in news recently, but for all wrong reasons. First, he missed the Test series in Sri Lanka, thanks to testing positive for Coronavirus and spending much of the time in the island nation in isolation.
He then was benched for most of the Test series in India, and played just one Test match, in Chennai, picking 8 wickets in England’s 317-run wicket. He was then sent back to the UK as per the England team’s player rotation policy, which was slammed by almost every former England captain and expert.

However, things seemed to be on the upswing for Moeen, as captain Eoin Morgan hailed the all-rounder.

Having him is a luxury within the squad, as is having the option to use him at different stages in the game. He’s opened the batting for years, he can bat anywhere in the top seven and can bowl wherever except probably the death,” Eoin Morgan said.
Moeen Ali has 1790 runs and 85 wickets in 106 ODIs and 392 runs and 17 wickets in T20Is for England. He has three tons and 5 half-centuries in ODIs, while in T20Is, Ali has 2 fifties to his name. Furthermore, Eoin Morgan confirmed that Jofra Archer is fit and available for the entire series, ready to play his part, having missed two of the last three Tests with an elbow injury.
