Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Harshith Rana shared a cryptic post after the announcement of India's squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. Harshith Rana reposted a motivational quote after failing to make it to India's second-string squad for the Zimbabwe tour next month.
On Monday, June 24, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad for the Zimbabwe tour. Young opening batter Shubman Gill has been named as the captain instead of wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson. It will be Shubman's first series as captain of the Indian cricket team.
Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Riyan Parag, and Tushar Deshpande received their maiden call-ups. Dhruv Jurel, who debuted in Test cricket, received his first call-up to the T20I squad. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson are the only players from India's T20 World Cup squad selected for the Zimbabwe tour.

However, players like Shreyas Iyer, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, T Natarajan, Rajat Patidar, Sai Sudharsan, and Shashank Singh were surprisingly not considered for the squad despite their strong outings.
Harshit Rana posted a cryptic message on Instagram after being overlooked, stating, "Everything will come to you at the perfect time."

Harshit Rana has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket. The right-arm pacer finished as the fifth-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2024, with 19 wickets in 14 matches at an economy rate of 8.49. Harshit showcased his ability to bowl effectively in all phases of the game during this year's T20 tournament.
Cricket fans feel that Harshit Rana deserves to be selected ahead of Mukesh Kumar and Tushar Deshpande for the India squad. The KKR fast bowler should have been picked even ahead of other fast bowlers like Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed, considering his impressive performance in the IPL 2024 season.
