The India vs Pakistan row will be a never-ending show in the cricketing fraternity. After former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir dropped his prediction on India, that the Men in Blue will not qualify for the semi-final of the 2026 T20 World Cup. However, last Sunday, India defeated West Indies in a must-win game by 5 wickets at the Eden Gardens to qualify for the last four.
Ahead of the India National Cricket Team face England National Cricket Team in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup, on Thursday, at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, ex-India batter Mohammad Kaif has made a verbal attack on the Pakistan pacer, replying to his prediction.
They do all these things- Mohammad Kaif
Mohammad Amir predicted that Suryakumar Yadav’s side would lose the Super 8 match against the West Indies in Kolkata and would be knocked out of the competition. Kaif, in reply, questioned Amir that if the latter really felt India would be knocked out of the tournament.
Kaif also stated on his YouTube channel that Mohammad Amir predicted this just to grab some attention from the media, especially from the Indian media, and his words should not be given much importance.

Amir knew that defending champions India would definitely reach the semi-final, but he still made the prediction because he wanted attention from India. He knew it would create news… pic.twitter.com/lFFvUccWmr
Mohammad Kaif said, "Did Amir really not know that India would reach the semifinals? He also knew it, that the defending champions will make it. But because it will become news, they do all these things. We must not give them importance. There is no need for us to come down to their level and reply."
His [Mohammad Amir] ball did not even land on the stumps- Kaif
Mohammad Kaif also took a dig at Mohammad Amir’s performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup against the USA. As Mohammad Amir gave away 18 runs in the super over, Pakistan failed to win the game against the associate nations.
"The loss that they faced against the USA in 2024, it was the same bowler who was the reason. In that over, there was only one boundary, but too many wides. His ball did not even land on the stumps. Who got scared against that USA team and made his team lose the game, then I do not have to say more," he further added.
The cricketer turned commentator also slammed Amir and his country, saying nobody needs to focus on what they say. They themselves do not have any strong cricketers or captains who could even reach the level of the Indian cricketers.
"Why are we focusing on him? The country that is so behind in the sport, they have no players, no solid captain, or a solid bowler, nothing. Just let them be. We don't have to talk about everything they talk. They cannot come to our level. They have different problems. If we focus on their comments, it is like we are giving them importance, and that is what they want anyway."
Pakistan players fined after failing to reach semi-finals
Pakistan players were fined by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) a fine of PKR 5 million (US$ 18,000 approx.) for each player after the side failed to qualify for the semi-finals and were knocked out of the tournament from the Super 8 stages.
Replying to that, Kaif said, "Every country has a different way of working. Pakistan can never become India. We have a different way of playing, different policies. The platform and backing that we give to players in IPL, our system, NCA, U-19, everything is different."
