Ex-India pacer hails 'selfless' Rohit Sharma, but makes 'don't know how...' remark on Virat Kohli as batters retire from T20Is

Team India's second T20 World Cup title win saw three Indian stalwarts retire from the format. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli confirmed their T20I retirements just after the title win while Ravindra Jadeja confirmed his retirement in the next 24 hours.

This T20 World Cup was a roller coaster for India and they clinched the trophy and remained unbeaten throughout the campaign. Kohli stepped up in the final scoring 76 off 59 balls and anchoring the innings and taking India to a position of strength.

Rohit Sharma before the game spoke about Virat Kohli's form. He said that an experienced player like Kohli is never out of form and that he is saving his best for the last which indeed became true.

Rohit then was smart in the field with his bowling and fielding changes. Under him, the team ultimately beat South Africa and he won his first ICC title as captain. Rohit now is the only player to win a T20 World Cup as a player and a captain.

Meanwhile, Munaf Patel reacted to Rohit and Kohli's international retirements from T20 cricket. It was Kohli who announced his international retirement first and Rohit followed suit. Rohit in the presser revealed that Kohli had informed him about his decision beforehand.

Rohit won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup as a player for India in 2007. Four years later, Kohli won the ODI World Cup as a player for India. Both of them in their captaincy tenures had an opportunity to win an ODI World Cup for India. However, Rohit Sharma after losing the ODI World Cup final, won the T20 World Cup final and captain and spoke about how badly he wanted to win this. India will be without Rohit and Kohli in T20Is from here on but the two will continue to play Test and ODI cricket as of now.
