Faf du Plessis Bought By Delhi Capitals For INR 2 crore at IPL Auction 2025

Faf du Plessis has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The former South Africa skipper will be one of the biggest attractions in the auction this year.

Even though he does not play international games anymore, Faf du Plessis is expected to attract a number of teams thanks to his consistent displays in the IPL over the years. He has been playing in the IPL since 2012 and has played for three teams so far - Chennai Super Kings, now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

From 2012 to 2015, he was a part of the Chennai Super Kings team. When Chennai Super Kings were suspended for two seasons, du Plessis played for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, he was once again a part of the Chennai-based outfit.

He played for Chennai till 2021 before being signed up by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2022. Ahead of the 2022 season, he was also appointed as the captain of the franchise. Overall, du Plessis has played 145 games in the IPL and has scored 4571 runs with the help of 37 half-centuries.
