The fans on social media have slammed the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a tweet which the governing body sent out on Thursday in regards to Hasan Ali’s dismissal in the ongoing Test match between Pakistan and South Africa at Karachi.
The ICC posted a tweet mocking Hasan Ali after the pacer was clean bowled from a Kagiso Rabada delivery, which also happened to be Rabada’s 200th Test scalp. The ICC used a popular template and shared a meme on the Pakistani speedster with the caption, “Your profile picture vs the full picture”.
ICC receives flak from fans for the using a meme on Hasan Ali
In the tweet, ICC posted two images: one in which Hasan is seen swinging for a big hit looking like it had cleared the rope; the next image reveals the reality that the batsman, Hasan Ali, has middle-stump uprooted.
Fans didn’t like the attempt of ICC’s social media admin to be humorous and demanded some ‘professionalism’ from the governing body. Some netizens pointed it out that Hasan is a bowler and his trolling for missing a shot was in ‘poor taste’.
Here is how people reacted to ICC’s post:
