Gautam Gambhir has penned down a heartfelt message for Lucknow Super Giants after parting ways with the franchise ahead of the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The former India opener has returned to Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor for IPL 2024, the franchise announced on Wednesday (November 24).
The two-time IPL-winning captain served as the mentor of the Lucknow-based outfit since the franchise became a part of the IPL in 2022. In their first-ever season in 2022, LSG qualified for the playoffs with Gautam Gambhir as their mentor. Earlier this year too, they made it to the playoffs but once again failed to make it to the finals.
After the failure to advance to the finals from the playoffs, LSG has made a number of changes to their backroom staff ahead of the next IPL season. They have already parted ways with head coach Andy Flower and have replaced him with former Australia head coach Justin Langer. They have also roped in former India allrounder S Sriram as an assistant coach as they look to claim their first IPL title.
