Former Australian Test cricketer Michael Slater has been charged with obstructing police and assault over the incident in the coastal Queensland holiday town. Michael Slater was arrested at a home in Noosa Heads, near the Sunshine Coast, at about midnight on Friday, following a domestic violence incident.
Police were called to the property on a domestic violence matter and a medical incident. When they arrived, Slater allegedly obstructed police and assaulted an officer, leaving him with a small cut on his arm. The Queensland Police said that no one else was physically injured in the incident. The Australian cricket legend will appear in Noosa Magistrates Court on May 2.
