Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar’s father, Manohar, is a proud and content man as his son took the franchise to the IPL finals for the first time since 2016. Manohar said that he always believed in his son’s cricketing dreams from the very beginning.
Rajat wanted to become a fast bowler and then switched to spin before eventually finding his rhythm as a batter, and his family stood by him steadily.
He was born to play cricket: Rajat Patidar's father on RCB captain
Patidar’s father was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express, “It was all his hard work. He didn't need to study, and he didn't need to take care of the house. He was free from the beginning. I didn't give him any load. He was born to play cricket. When I didn't force him, he used to do what he wanted.”
The Madhya Pradesh star’s career has taken flight in recent years, and his father said that leading RCB in the IPL is a very big thing for them. He signed off by saying, “We are very proud; it feels very good. It is a big deal becoming the captain of RCB.”
Now, Rajat has a chance to script history, as if RCB manages to beat PBKS in the final on Tuesday, he will become the first male captain to win the IPL trophy for the franchise. He has scored 286 runs across 14 innings in the ongoing season so far, with the best score of 64 runs at a strike rate of 142.
