'Fraud Shubman Gill can’t even perform against Oman': Twitter reacts to batter's Asia Cup flop show

Indian batter Shubman Gill, who made his much-anticipated return to T20I cricket with the Asia Cup, has disappointed with his performance as the opener of the side and has received immense criticism from the ICT fans.
India is currently featured in the Asia Cup. They have already won two matches, with their bowlers doing most of the job for them. However, against Oman, this is the first time that the Men in Blue have opted to bat first for India.
India is already among the four teams to have qualified for the Super-4 stage in the Asia Cup. Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka have also made it to the Super-4 stage of the Asia Cup.
Shubman Gill was dismissed early in back-to-back Asia Cup games
Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill was picked for the Asia Cup 2025 squad after a long break from the shortest format of the game. The right-handed batter's selection for the Asia Cup squad was one of the most controversial decisions for the Men in Blue.
The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer were snubbed from the Indian team to facilitate the selection of Shubman Gill. Gill performed convincingly in the game against the UAE, where India chased a modest total.
However, Gill has missed out on both the match against Pakistan and now against Oman. He was dismissed for just 5 runs against Oman as the new ball bowler, Faisal Shah, cleaned him up in the second over of the game.
Sanju Samson takes the field as India's no. 3 against Oman
After Gill's dismissal, wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson has come out to bat for India at no. 3. The previous two games marked skipper Suryakumar Yadav coming in at no. 3, and Samson has finally got to make his first batting appearance for India in the Asia Cup.
Samson had to sacrifice his opening slot to the returning batter Shubman Gill. Gill has also been coined the vice-captain of the side and has been cited as the future skipper for the Indian T20I side.
Samson has made a slow start to his innings but contributed to the half-century partnership alongside opener Abhishek Sharma, who has shown some commendable form for the Indian team.
