Gill ended the year with 1,764 runs from 35 matches at an average close to 50, including seven centuries. In Tests, he scored 983 runs in nine matches at an outstanding average of over 70, with multiple hundreds against England and the West Indies.

He added 490 runs from 11 ODIs, including two centuries. However, Gill struggled in T20Is, managing 291 runs in 15 matches. As a result, despite his success in Tests and ODIs, he was left out of India’s T20I squad and replaced by Ishan Kishan for the 2026 T20 World Cup plans.
