RCB have their task cut out heading into the IPL 2025 mega auction. The franchise finished fourth on the points table as they qualified for the playoffs.
However, they lost the Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals to bow out of the tournament. RCB have been the perennial underachievers in the IPL. Despite having big names like AB De Villiers, Chris Gayle, AB De Villiers, and others playing for them, they are yet to win the IPL title.
The RCB women's team won the WPL title earlier this year and broke the deadlock for the franchise. The men's side are yet to taste the same success. Over the years, they have been coached by several big names connected with coaching.
Andy Flower took charge ahead of this season and with Faf du Plessis managed to take the team through to the playoffs. It was only half the job done as they did not win the title. In this article, we take a look at three Indian players RCB might release ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Heading into next year there are reports that RCB will not continue with Faf as the skipper of the side. They have plans to draft KL Rahul into the side and make him the skipper of the side as well. Under Rahul, LSG made it to the playoffs in IPL 2022 and 2023.
Earlier this year, after a video surfaced of LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka involved in a heated exchange with Rahul, there are rumors that He might part ways with the franchise. If that happens, RCB might go hard for Rahul who previously played for the franchise between 2014-2016.

In the meeting between the IPL owners and the BCCI, the number of retentions was hugely debated. Almost all the franchises want the BCI to consider the maximum number of retentions. The BCCI said that they will give their final decision on the retentions by the end of August 2024.

Mayank Dagar
Dagar was used as the specialist spinner by RCB in most of the games. He along with Karn Sharma were the two specialist spinners.
However, the left-arm spinner could not provide much impact in the matches that he played. He played five matches and picked up just one wicket which might make him one of the players released by RCB.
Suyash Prabhudessai
With RCB having a solid top-order, Suyash failed to make it to the playing XI this season. He just played one game and scored 24 in the match against KKR. Overall, the Goa cricketer has played 11 matches for the franchise scoring 126 runs at an average of 12.60.
Manoj Bhandage
The all-rounder from Karnakata was one of the players retained by RCB in the IPL 2024 mini-auctions. He was retained for 20 lakhs.
He was with the side since 2022 but has yet to play a game for the franchise. With RCB looking to rebuild their squad, the Karnakata all-rounder might be one of the players released.
