Delhi Capitals will have to go through many changes due to IPL 2024 auction. Delhi Capitals have never won the IPL title but reached the final in the IPL 2020 season, which was their best show.

The team was led by Rishabh Pant in IPL 2024. The left-handed batsman returned to the side after missing IPL 2023. They showed some might at the start but could not reach the playoffs. With 7 wins and 7 defeats in 14 games, they finished with 14 points. They took the 6th spot in the points table.

Now, DC needs to go away with many members due to IPL 2024 auction. Teams can only retain about 4 players during mega auction and as a result, all the faces are shuffled. There are some players whose careers might be in danger if DC does not retain them. Here we glance at three of them.

3. David Warner

David Warner is the first player on this list. Warner has already retired from international cricket and has not retired from franchise cricket. On the other hand, he has become more active in franchise cricket.

The left-handed batsman will be part of IPL 2025 and if DC does not retain him, there are high chance that other teams will not buy him. In such a scenario, Warner might retire from T20 cricket.

2. Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma is another player on this list. The right-arm pacer lost his place in the Test side a few years ago. He is now a veteran pacer who does not play much cricket. Sharma also went unsold in some seasons and donned the role of commentator.

If Delhi Capitals does not retain him, there is a high chance he will go unsold in Indian Premier League. In such a case, he is likely to retire from the shortest format. Hence, he is another name on this list.

1. Shai Hope

Shai Hope is a West Indies batsman who is also part of Delhi Capitals. He is one of the specialists in longer formats and also missed spots in T20Is for West Indies. In IPL 2024, he played 9 games and scored just 183 runs for the side.

He had a good strike rate of 150+ but a poor average of 22+. Hence, he is another player who might go unsold in the IPL 2025 auction and if that happens, he might bid goodbye to the shortest format as well.
