Sunrisers Hyderabad gave a fabulous show last season and will now aim to lift the title in IPL 2025. However, ahead of the next season, SRH will need to add new faces to their squad and remove old ones due to the IPL 2025 mega auction.

3. Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins is the first player whom SRH will retain for the next season. With Cummins, Sunrisers have found a powerful skipper who can lead the side for the next few years. He has already proved his leadership skills in IPL 2024.

Cummins is also a lethal pacer who can dismantle the opposition batters with his bowling. In the lower order, he is one of the reliable tailender batters. Hence, the Aussie skipper is the top contender for retention with no doubts.

2. Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma was one of the highlights of IPL 2025 who rocked with the bat. The left-handed batsman played as an opener for SRH. Smacking 484 runs in 16 games at 204+ strike rate, there are no doubts Sharma was the most spectacular batter.

He also slammed 3 half-centuries in the season and scared opposition batters with his lethal batting show. Hence, he will be at the top of the list when SRH finalizes their retained players for the IPL 2025 auction.

There are doubts if BCCI will allow each franchise to retain more than one player for the IPL 2025 auction. However, if they do, Sunrisers Hyderabad will go ahead with Travis Head. The Aussie batter became a part of the side in last season's auction and they will leave no stone unturned to keep him in their squad.

The left-handed batter finished as the top run-getter for SRH in IPL 2025. With 567 runs in 15 games, he had a batting average of 40+ and a spectacular strike rate of 191+. He also shattered 1 century and 4 half-centuries.
