Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag used Twitter to share a hilarious post in which he reminded England and their irate fans of the game’s rules, which make it abundantly clear that whatever Deepti Sharma did to run out Charlotte Dean during the third ODI was both legal and within the limits of the game.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team defeated the visitors by a margin of 16 runs. India whitewashed England in England for the first time in history with the victory in the third game.

In a low-scoring thriller on Sunday, Deepti Sharma ran out English all-rounder Charlotte Dean on the third ball of the 44th over, setting up a contentious finish. It was not a typical run-out dismissal since Deepti moved Dean’s bails out of the way at the non-end strikers even before the ball was thrown.

The method of dismissal was perfectly legal because the ICC has permitted such dismissals, which were once referred to as “Mankading” but are now recognized as run-out as a result of the rule change. In a tight run chase, Deepti made the most of her match awareness to help India win and bid Jhulan Goswami, who played her final game after 20 years of competition, farewell in style.

Fans and analysts from all over the world reacted strongly to Deepti’s remarks on the pitch, with English leading bowler Stuart Broad not very thrilled with what transpired there.

However, in a nasty response to everyone who was upset by India’s victory and Deepti’s foresight, former Virender Sehwag came out with a funny tweet in which he ridiculed England by asserting that so many English men are poor losers. Other English greats concurred that it was unfortunate.

Virender Sehwag on yesteryear posted a couple of pictures. The first one had the English national flag and it read, “Invent a Game, Forget Its Rules.” And the second picture had rule No. 41.16.1 explained.

“Funny To See So Many English Guys Being Poor Losers,” Virender Sehwag tweeted.

The victory gave India’s bowling stalwart Jhulan Goswami the perfect send-off as he completed a clean sweep of the series against England by scores of 3-0. In her final international appearance, Goswami claimed two wickets and posted outstanding figures of 2/30 in 10 overs.
