Former India captain Kris Srikkanth lambasted head coach Gautam Gambhir and the entire India National Cricket Team management for the 2-1 ODI series loss against England, despite winning the first match of the series.

Kris Srikkanth mentioned that after all the poor performances in India’s tour of the UK, the team management will survive as they are scheduled to face lower-ranked teams like Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and West Indies in the near future.

India concluded with a heavy defeat against England in London

The Indian cricket team concluded the UK series without claiming any series as they surrendered the T20I series against Ireland and England subsequently before going down against England in the 3-match One Day International contest.

On his YouTube channel, Cheeky Cheeka, Kris Srikkanth, in a heated way, stated that despite the disappointing results from the England match, Gautam Gambhir will be praised in the future only because of the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup.

The former India batter expressed that if Gautam Gambhir gets the credit for winning the trophies, then he will have to hold accountability for those results which went against the team.

“In the middle of so many losses, India will sneak in a Champions Trophy and a T20 World Cup. Using that, Gautam Gambhir will get hailed. Yet, in reality, Gambhir is accountable for these results. The team management has to be accountable overall. But in India, that'll never be there, so these will be brushed under the carpet,” Kris Srikkanth said.

Kris Srikkanth issues heavy criticism on the Gautam Gambhir-led team management

Reviewing India’s next few fixtures, Srikkanth pointed out that the Men in Blue will next face Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and West Indies, which are not among the top cricketing teams, and will probably get wins with ease.

Because of the possible wins over these three nations, the shameful outings in England will go under the carpet. Thus, Gautam Gambhir and Co. will be able to save their positions, as the former cricketer believed.

“Now they'll crush Zimbabwe and then after that beat teams like West Indies and Sri Lanka. Time will fly through these till the World Cup next year. And everyone will say India is back to form. But in reality, these series shouldn't even be considered," explained Kris Srikkanth.

The former India skipper also expressed his disappointment over the team selection. At Lord’s, the Indian bowling unit sustained a bad day on the ground against the England batting order, who secured 387 runs to defeat India and to claim the 3-match ODI series 2-1.

Kris Srikkanth raises concern over the team selection

The pace bowling line-up with Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, and Gurnoor Brar got a reality check in London. Srikkanth predicts that the team management will keep prolific bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Krunal Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja in the future.

"Yet, everyone will forget this England tour once the Zimbabwe series starts in two days. They'll keep picking their favorites and leave out so many other worthy players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shami, Siraj, Krunal Pandya and Jadeja,"
