As per the reports from Sports Tak, the dinner invitation has been extended to all players and members of the support staff, offering the squad a chance to strengthen the team's camaraderie before the second Test against the West Indies.

The Indian team is expected to visit Gambhir's residence on the 8th of October, after their training sessions conclude at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital.

Gautam Gambhir is portrayed as the villain in Indian cricket by a former cricketer

While Gautam Gambhir has cited team bonding, several former cricketers have slammed the Indian head coach for conspiring against great Indian cricketers. Manoj Tiwary, the former cricketer, has blamed Gautam Gambhir for having forced the retirement of senior cricketers like Ravi Ashwin, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.

He has also mentioned that the likes of Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli are much more established cricketers than the coach himself, and hence they might not align with his decisions, as a result of which he conspired alongside the Indian management to sideline them from the team.

He was further blamed for being inconsistent with team selections, as he had brought several new cricketers into the XI without any proper explanation of his actions. Ever since Gambhir took over as the Indian coach, a large number of controversies have arisen.

India dominated the West Indies with all-round brilliance in Ahmedabad

After a gap of almost 1 year, the West Indies tour of India marks the beginning of India's home season in the longest format of the game. India began their Test series on a dominant note, coming from a great series in England.

India outclassed the West Indies side as Ravindra Jadeja, the vice-captain, led from the front with both bat and ball and was also adjudged as the player of the match. With a spectacular knock of 104* runs and 4 wickets in the second innings, he was the top performer.

After bowling the visitors out for 162, India piled up a mammoth 448 in their innings, with opener Kl Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Dhruv Jurel hitting respective hundreds. Mohammed Siraj was the highest wicket-taker in the game with 7 wickets across the two innings.
