Gautam Gambhir, a former opening batter for India, announced on Friday that he would take part in the second Legends League Cricket tournament.
Gambhir was a member of two World Cup-winning teams for India in 2007 (T20 World Cup) and 2011 (50-over World Cup).

On September 16, a special match between India Maharajas and World Giants will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and the second season of the Legends League will commence on September 17. Sourav Ganguly will captain the India Maharajas, while former England captain Eoin Morgan will captain the World Giants.

Every Indian cricket fan still looks proud about Gambhir’s 97 in the 2011 World Cup final. In limited-overs cricket, Gambhir has amassed over 6000 runs after playing for India in 147 ODIs and 37 T20Is. Additionally, under his leadership, Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL in both 2012 and 2014, an incredible accomplishment.

“I am happy to announce that I have agreed to play in the forthcoming Legends League Cricket beginning on September 17th. I am looking forward to getting back on a cricket field with excitement.
“Reuniting with the glitterati of international cricket will be a privilege and an honor,” Gambhir stated in a statement.
Ten different foreign nations’ players will take part in this encounter. The league will start the next day, September 17, 2022, with four teams participating in a franchise model based on the Legends League Cricket. This season will include 15 total games.
