India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir will be at the receiving end of some harsh questions by the BCCI following the team's poor outing under him as a coach. As per the reports in Dainik Jagran, it is learned that the BCCI will be holding a review meeting at their headquarters in Mumbai today.

The reports claimed that Gautam Gambhir would be asked the reasons behind the ODI series loss in Sri Lanka after 27 years, a clean sweep 0-3 at home against New Zealand, and defeat in the Border Gavaskar Trophy after 10 years, followed by getting eliminated from the race for the final of ICC World Test Championship 2025.

Roger Binny, Rajeev Shukla, Devajit Saikia, Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will be present in the meeting

Gautam Gambhir will be joined by BCCI President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajeev Shukla, Interim Secretary Devajit Saikia, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, and other officials in the meeting and they will be discussing the issues going ahead into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Things are not at all going right for Gautam Gambhir in his tenure as the head coach of the India National Cricket Team. While the team is doing extremely well in T20Is, the side has witnessed a massive downfall in the ODIs as well as the longest format of the game.

India won the Test series against Bangladesh by the margin of 2-0 but after that, faced a 3-0 thrashing at home against New Zealand, which was a first series loss in 12 years at home. After that, they faced a poor 3-1 loss against the Australia National Cricket Team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

BCCI wants answers from head coach Gautam Gambhir as well as chairman of selector Ajit Agarkar

Apart from the Perth Test, India looked extremely poor in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Gautam Gambhir's role as the head coach came under scanner as many decisions of him were highlighted in the media and the BCCI is all set to question those as well.

Gambhir's decision to play two spinners in Sydney despite the green pitch might also be questioned along with the dressing room leaks. The reports added that BCCI is unhappy with the defeat in the Sri Lanka tour, the home series against New Zealand, and the Australia tour.

The governing body wants answers from head coach Gambhir as well as chairman of selector Ajit Agarkar. However, BCCI is against taking some big calls, especially with the T20I and ODI series around the corner, followed by the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be played next month.

The reports added that Gambhir and his support will not be sacked for now as the BCCI's main focus is on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The meeting also will see the discussions on team selection for the England series as well as the eight-nation tournament.

It is learned that Suryakumar Yadav will continue as T20I captain while the place of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in ODIs is safe. However, discussions related to their place in the Tests will be happening.
