AB de Villiers opened up about the possibility of Indian batter Virat Kohli playing in the SA20. He said that he definitely wants the batter to play in the South African league as it would be amazing.

Virat Kohli arguably is one of the best batters in the world. Not only in one format but he has asserted his authority in all three formats of the game. Many leagues around the world have expressed their desire to get him and play for them.

But due to BCCI’s policy, Indian players aren’t allowed to play in foreign leagues. It’s fair to say that if he puts his name in the auction, he would break all the records. The batter has made himself a global brand with his breathtaking performances.

AB de Villiers, who recently was appointed as the brand ambassador of SA20, said that he would want Virat Kohli to play one season in the league once he retire. He said (as quoted by India Today):

Definitely, Virat. Get Virat over there. Hopefully, as soon as he’s done with his career, come and play one season in the BetWay SA 20. That would be amazing.”

Virat Kohli only plays in the IPL and is the leading run-getter in the league. The batter has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore since the inception of the league. He has scored 7263 runs in 237 matches to go with 7 centuries and 50 half-centuries in the league, which is the most by any batter.

My heart is with the RCB – AB de Villiers

AB de Villiers, who was an integral part of Royal Challengers Bangalore, said that his heart is with the team and he would like to see himself in RCB colors in some coaching capacity. He explained:

“I hope so. I mean, my heart is with the RCB. I’ve played there for many, many years. I’ve got a very good connection with the fans of Bangalore, and I’ll always be appreciative for all the support and love over the years. I can’t guarantee anything, but I would absolutely love to see myself in the RCB colours again in the future.”

There were a lot of reports earlier that AB de Villiers might join Royal Challengers Bangalore as a mentor. But so far there has been no clarity. He was recently inducted into the hall of fame of the franchise.
