Australia star Glenn Maxwell has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crores. The veteran allrounder plied his trade for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the last edition of the competition.
His IPL journey began with Delhi Capitals in 2012 before he joined Mumbai Indians in 2013. In 2014, Maxwell was signed up by Punjab Kings and he finally announced his arrival with a stunning display in IPL 2014.
The hard-hitting batsman smashed 552 runs at a strike rate of almost 190 as Punjab Kings made it to the final for the first time.
He stayed with Punjab till 2017 before joining Delhi Capitals in 2018. In 2020, he returned to Punjab Kings before being signed up by Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the 2021 season.
In his first season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Glenn Maxwell scored an impressive 513 runs before scoring 301 and 400 runs in IPL 2022 and 2023 respectively.
However, he had a poor campaign with the bat in IPL 2024 which probably played a big role in the franchise's decision to not retain him. In IPL 2024, Maxwell managed to score only 52 runs in 10 games.
