Captaincy is also something that has to be earned- Rohit Sharma

Apart from SKY, Rohit Sharma said, "The way Shreyas Iyer has led the franchise, Mumbai he will have a good time in leading India as well". "Playing in Mumbai and representing Mumbai teaches you a lot. You can ask anyone who has captained Mumbai and then gone on to captain India. Nothing comes easy here you have to earn everything."

"Captaincy is also something that has to be earned. You need to earn the respect of the people around you, and that’s the common quality among those who have come through Mumbai and gone on to captain India. it was Suryakumar Yadav, who led India all the way to a World Cup final, and now it’s Shreyas Iyer, who has been announced as captain."

India plays England and Ireland

India will first tour Ireland for two T20s on June 26 and 28, followed by a five-match T201 series against England from July 1 to 11. Shreyas returned to India's T201 team for the first time since December 3, 2023, when he faced Australia in Bengaluru.
