Hardik Pandya crowned top IPL captain by ex-Punjab Kings star

Former Punjab Kings (PBKS) cricketer Shivam Sharma recently picked his favorite team and captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Shivam Sharma picked the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya as his favorite Indian Premier League captain, excluding legendary players like Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.

Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni are the most successful captains in the history of the Indian Premier League. Rohit guided the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise to five titles in the IPL. Dhoni equaled Rohit's record after helping the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) win the trophy during the IPL 2023 season.

It is worth mentioning that Rohit and Dhoni didn't lead their respective teams in the IPL 2024 season. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was named captain of the Mumbai Indians before the start of the season. Meanwhile, Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy and handed it over to opener Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Shivam Sharma Names Hardik Pandya As His Favorite IPL Captain

Shivam Sharma recently conducted a Q&A session with fans on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). During the chat, Sharma was asked about his favorite IPL team and favorite IPL captain.

In response to a fan's question about his favorite IPL team and captain, Shivam named the Kolkata Knight Riders as his favorite team and Hardik Pandya as his favorite captain, excluding Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.

"Your favourite ipl team... Your favourite ipl captain except ro-msd-ko," a fan asked.

Hardik Pandya also won a trophy as captain in the Indian Premier League. He led the Gujarat Titans (GT) to victory in the 2022 edition and reached the final again in the 2023 season, where they lost to CSK. However, he had a disappointing season as Mumbai Indians skipper in this year's T20 tournament.

Shivam Sharma Names His Favourite Cricket Match and Favourite innings

Shivam Sharma named his favorite cricket match and the favorite innings of his favorite batter. Sharma picked the group stage match between India and Pakistan from the 2022 T20 World Cup. He said that Virat Kohli’s knock from the same match was his favorite innings.

"Favorite cricket match.. except the latest wc final Also favorite innings of your favourite batter ..." another fan asked.

Virat Kohli helped the Indian team snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 82 runs off 53 balls, including six fours and four sixes. The Men in Blue chased down the 160-target after a poor start against their archrivals.

Shivam Sharma played five matches for the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2014.
