Hardik Pandya on the verge of creating T20I history in Bangladesh series

The Indian cricket team is all set to light up the T20I stage when they face Bangladesh in a thrilling three-match T20I series at home, starting on Sunday, October 6, in Gwalior.

Well, Hardik Pandya has a golden opportunity to rewrite the record books during the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which can be a record-breaking series for the star all-rounder.

Actually, the 30-year-old is on the brink of breaking Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s long-standing record in T20I cricket. Bhuvneshwar is currently the second-highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket for India, with 90 scalps to his name.

On the other hand, Hardik Pandya currently has 86 wickets from 102 T20I matches to his name, and now he is just five dismissals away from breaking Bhuvneshwar’s record and achieving the historic achievement. He also has a great chance to break Yuzvendra Chahal's record in the home series.

Chahal is currently leading the chart as the Indian bowler with the most wickets in T20I cricket, with 96 scalps to his name. And Hardik needs 11 wickets to overtake Chahal in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, starting on Sunday in Guwahati.

Currently, the Indian leg-spinner Chahal holds the record of being the most successful bowler in the T20I cricket against Bangladesh, with nine dismissals to his name. All eyes will be on Hardik as he aims to etch his name in the history books on his return to the national colors.

Apart from Hardik, Arshdeep Singh also has a great opportunity to become the leading wicket-taker in T20Is between India and Bangladesh. The left-arm pacer has already claimed five wickets in just three T20I appearances against the Bangladesh cricket team.

After the first T20I in Guwahati, India and Bangladesh will travel to Delhi for the second game scheduled on October 8 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, followed by the third and final game on October 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
