Many have felt for Hardik Pandya amidst the heavy criticism after Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered a humiliating defeat of 103 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 33rd match of the ongoing IPL 2026 on Thursday (April 23) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Things are certainly not going Hardik Pandya’s way, and almost everyone is against the Mumbai Indians, but he has the strong support of his partner Mahieka Sharma and son Agastya. They have been regularly seen in the stands, supporting Hardik and MI in the ongoing IPL 2026.

Mahieka Sharma has been getting a lot of love from fans, who admire the way she looks after Agastya with so much care and protection. And now the latest instance of the Indian all-rounder taking care of his partner and son melts hearts online despite things being so tough for him.

After the match, cameras were fully focused on Hardik Pandya, capturing every reaction as the MI team suffered a shocking defeat against CSK. A video went viral on social media, showing Hardik talking with Mahieka and son Agastya—who were at the stands—from the dressing room.

In that moment, Hardik looked serious and slightly upset. In his hand gestures, the MI captain asked Mahieka and Agastya to go back home and have some rest and speak to him later on the phone.

On the field, Hardik had a very rough game. He struggled badly with the ball, giving away 38 runs in just two overs. He also failed to make any impact with the bat, scoring only one run.

At the same time, Sanju Samson played a brilliant innings for Chennai Super Kings. Sanju scored a brilliant unbeaten century, his second of the season, putting pressure on MI bowlers from the start. His 101* off 54 balls helped CSK post a massive 207/6 on the board against MI.

Then came Akeal Hosein, who made things even worse for Mumbai. The West Indies star bowled with great control and picked up four wickets, wreaking havoc on MI’s top and middle order. The hosts could not handle the pressure and were all out for just 104 runs.

With this big win, CSK have moved up to fifth place in the IPL 2026 points table with six points from seven games and will now face Gujarat Titans in their next match. On the other hand, MI slipped to the eighth position in the table with only four points from seven games.

“I think that in the powerplay, losing that early wicket is always going to be tricky. You are always chasing the game, and we could not cope after that. I think that will be the chat where we will go back again, go forward, and figure out what we need to do. We have a couple of days. We just need to see what we can do best,” Pandya said at the post-match presentation.
