Tonight's match against the Pakistan Women's National Cricket Team in the ongoing Women's Asia Cup marks Harmanpreet Kaur's 150th T20I as captain of the Indian national cricket team.

Kaur, who is now 37, said at the toss that it is a great achievement for her and that she wants to keep enjoying playing on the field. According to her, enjoying the game is the key to a successful long journey in the game called cricket.
"Great achievement. But the key is to keep enjoying yourself on the field, and that is a key; I try to keep up with that," Harmanpreet Kaur said.
With the latest record, Harmanpreet Kaur continues to top the list of women's cricket team captains who played most number of matches in International cricket. After Kaur, Sri Lanka Women's Chamari Athapaththu is second on the list with 121 matches played as the captain of the national side. In second place is Australia's Meg Lanning, who captained the team in 100 T20I matches.

Pakistan asks India to bowl first
In tonight's match against Pakistan, India Women's were asked to chase the target in the second innings as the Pakistan Women's team captain Fatima Sana won the toss. Sana opted to bat first as she and her team wanted to utilise the pitch most.
Kaur, however, did not sound unhappy to lose the toss; she shows enough faith in the bowling line-up of the Indian cricket team. The skipper mentioned that her girls will try their best to restrict Pakistan Women to a paltry total in Dubai.
"Definitely. Our bowling is doing great in this tournament, and good to get the opportunity to bowl first... We'll try to restrict them to a short total, so there won't be pressure while chasing," Kaur said.

While chasing a total in the second innings is considered always a pressure thing for any team across the world, the Indian team captain , the experienced Indian batter, spilled a formula for a successful run chase. She stated that to chase a total, batters need to take their time in the middle before swinging the bat for big shots.
"I think while batting it's always about giving ourselves some time and then going for your shots. And I think the first two games we did really well in that department, and hopefully we'll continue," she added.
Before facing the arch rival Pakistan, India claimed two back-to-back wins to start their Women's Asia Cup 2026 campaign. In Group A, they are the table toppers.
