The England National Cricket Team is in Pakistan for a Tri-Series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. During the 3rd match of the series, England skipper Harry Brook went on a rampage as he broke several milestones after becoming the first English batter to smash a double hundred in the One-Day internationals at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi against Sri Lanka.

England had played one game and lost against the host Pakistan; this game was crucial for the Three Lions, as they had been in brilliant form in the last few months in white-ball cricket. They demolished Sri Lanka at home, winning the series 2-1. Under Harry Brook, the side has looked different after their disasters in major ODI tournaments.

Harry Brook joins elite list

Brook initially surpassed the record of former England captain Ben Stokes’ highest individual score of 182; later on, he kept his carnage-hitting going and went on to score a double hundred in the ODI format and achieved several milestones once he reached the historic mark. He has joined an elite list of cricketers after scoring a double hundred.

Brook reached the milestone in 114 deliveries and broke the record of team India captain Shubman Gill, who recently scored a double hundred off 116 deliveries. Now the English captain has the record for the fastest ODI double hundred. The England captain has been in superb form across formats, as he is the vice-captain of the Test side and has been the backbone of the middle order.

Apart from him, only former West Indies National Cricket Team captain 'the Universe Boss' Chris Gayle has the same milestone. This year, across formats, Brook has an average of 50.1 and has scored 1815 runs so far. He would want to continue his red-hot form till the ODI World Cup 2027.
