Former Gujarat batsman Priyank Panchal has launched a savage attack on the England National Cricket Team superstar batsman Harry Brook.

Seeing Harry Brook's vicious 'IPL' sledges aimed at Nitish Kumar Reddy, Priyank Panchal stated that the English batter will remain salty towards the Indian Premier League for a very long time.

Reddy came out to bat in the 25th over when Washington Sundar fell to Jofra Archer as the seventh wicket of the Indian innings. He was welcomed with a deadly bouncer from Jofra Archer and a few verbal jabs.

From thereon, Reddy was constantly targeted by Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, and other English players during his 91-ball partnership for 30 runs with Ravindra Jadeja.

Nitish Kumar Reddy's ex-SRH teammate Harry Brook went really hard with his sledges and mentioned the Indian Premier League (IPL) in it. In the 30th over, Brook was caught saying, “Who do you think you are? I remember when we were with the Sunrisers, you didn't say anything there.” A ball later, Brook said, "Jaddu needs to score all the runs. This is not IPL," to Reddy.

Brook will remain salty towards the IPL for a long time anyways - Priyank Panchal

Brook and Nitish Kumar Reddy didn't remain teammates at the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for very long as the franchise decided to kick out the English batter and retained the young all-round sensation Reddy.

Reacting to Brook's sledges aimed at Reddy, Priyank Panchal, who shared a dressing room with Jasprit Bumrah at Gujarat, took a savage dig at the Englishman, stating that he would remain salty towards IPL for a long time.

"NKR should chill. Not his fault that Brook will remain salty towards the IPL for a long time anyways. #ENGvsIND," Panchal wrote on X.

The context behind this jab from Panchal is the ban that Harry Brook was handed by the Indian Premier League governing council.

Notably, he was bought by Delhi Capitals at the IPL 2025 mega auction for Rs 6.2 crore, but he withdrew from the tournament just days before it began, citing his desire to focus on his international career with England.

As per IPL rules, players who withdraw from the tournament for non-injury reasons after being bought at auction are subject to a two-year ban from entering the IPL auction.

India struggle in run-chase at Lord's

Team India struggled in the Lord's Test match while chasing 193 and went to Lunch with 112/8 on the board. Speaking on Sky Sports, former India head coach Ravi Shastri said that the visitors should have attacked more in the last innings. He said:

"It is a killer blow [to lose Reddy on the stroke of lunch]. India would have been thinking, 'we have a 30-run partnership and if we can stretch this for another half an hour or so then the deficit will be about 60'. I thought after a while one of the two batters should have taken the attack a bit more."

He also lauded Jofra Archer's stunning delivery to rattle the stumps of star India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. Ravi Shastri said:

"When a fast bowler is in full flight, there is no better sight in the world. When you have the stumps cartwheeling, even better."
