Harshal Patel Bought By Sunrisers Hyderabad For INR 8 crore at IPL Auction 2025

India fast-bowler Harshal Patel has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at a base price of INR 2 crore. The right-arm pacer has been one of the best performers in the IPL in recent years and it won't be surprising if he earns a lucrative contract in the auction.
In the last four seasons, he has won the Purple Cap twice for taking the most wickets in a season. Patel's IPL journey began in 2012 when he was signed up by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He stayed with the franchise till 2017 but hardly got a long run in the playing eleven.
From 2018 to 2020, he plied his trade for Delhi Capitals but struggled again to get a regular chance in the playing eleven. His fortunes finally changed in 2021 when he was re-signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
In his comeback season for the Bengaluru-based outfit, Harshal Patel picked up a staggering 32 wickets in 15 games. He finished the tournament as the highest wicket-taker.
He impressed in the following two seasons as well, taking 19 and 14 wickets. Ahead of IPL 2024, he was signed up by Punjab Kings and he once again impressed with the ball. Harshal clinched the Purple Cap in 2024 after taking 24 wickets.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have signed up Harshal Patel for INR 8 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Punjab Kings had the RTM option but they declined to match the 8 crore bid by the Sunrisers.
