Indian Premier League 2024 winner Harshit Rana spoke in depth about the craze Indian fans have about former India and CSK captain MS Dhoni.

Harshit Rana, who was an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team which won its 3rd IPL title, was amazed by the reception of MS Dhoni. Wherever the Chennai Super Kings wicket-keeper batsman went, the sea of yellow followed him around. Be it a home or away game, MSD fans always turned up in large numbers to support CSK even if they were not true fans.

People specifically went to CSK games just to have a look at MS Dhoni, who was possibly playing his last season in the IPL. Therefore, all the Indian cricket fans made sure to buy tickets for the matches in Dhoni featured.

Not just Harshit Rana but every other player in the league as well as the broadcasters were shocked to see the number of Yellow jerseys during Chennai's away games.

Harshit Rana admits the crowd used to make ear bursting type of noise after seeing MS Dhoni

Harshit Rana recently appeared in Shubhankar Mishra's podcast show and spoke about a variety of things from IPL 2024. From his form to how he felt working with someone like Mitchell Starc to his experience of playing under Gautam Gambhir's mentorship. One of the questions that he asked was about the MS Dhoni madness among fans in this Premier League season.

In his response, Harshit Rana admitted that every single venue in India is MS Dhoni's home ground. Be it the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi the M. Chinnaswamy in Bengaluru or the Dharamshala stadium in Himachal Pradesh, MSD finds home everywhere he goes. Only someone like Dhoni can have this type of fanbase and why not?

After all, he is the one who has given Indian fans the time of their lives from 2007 to 2013. These were the golden years of Indian cricket so far as the nation won three major trophies under MS Dhoni. It all started with the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, followed by the home Cricket World Cup triumph in 2011 and then the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy in England.

These three trophies are never going to be forgotten by Indian fans. Thus, it is normal to hear ear bursting noise whenever MS Dhoni is playing a match in IPL 2024. And as Harshit Rana said, whichever ground he goes to, MSD is given the feeling of being at home by his fans.

"Every ground is home ground for MS Dhoni, grounds turn into yellow jerseys wherever he goes - When he enters in ground you genuinely get the feel that your ears are bursting. That is how loud the crowd is during his entry." - Harshit Rana told Shubhankar Mishra.

Will MSD return for IPL 2025?

The biggest question that is lingering around at the moment is whether MS Dhoni will return to play IPL 2025 or not. He has not confirmed anything as of now and it doesn't seem as if the fans will get to know anything about it before the Mega Auctions.
