The West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team is currently playing against the Zimbabwe Women’s National Cricket Team at the Harare Sports Club, Harare. During the 1st ODI match between the sides, Windies skipper Hayley Matthews created a world record as she became the first woman cricketer to register two 150+ scores in ODIs and joined an elite list of players.
The Caribbean side is touring Zimbabwe for a full-white ball tour with three ODIs, following three T20Is. Now, with a 99-run win in the first game, the Windies have taken a 1-0 lead against the home side, with Matthews winning Player of the Match for her excellent hundred. They would like to win the next game and seal the series.

She scored 182 runs off 156 deliveries, smashing 25 fours and two sixes in her flamboyant innings. She, after the score registered the highest ever individual score by a West Indies women batter in the 50-over format, surpassing the record of Stafanie Taylor, who previously scored 171 runs in this format. Matthews also beat her own highest score of 159 runs.

Apart from that, she managed another record of becoming the first woman cricketer to score two 150+ scores in WODIs. Previously, she scored 159* runs against Ireland and single-handedly won the match earlier this year in July. Overall, only 14 players have been able to score two 150+ scores in a single year, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli on the list.

Hayley Matthews registers sixth highest score in women's cricket
Matthews also became the sixth player to be on the list of women cricketers who registered the highest scores with the bat in WODIs. She is behind South Africa Women’s National Cricket Team captain Laura Wolvaardt for her unbeaten 184 on the list to become the sixth player.
New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr has a magnificent 232* against Ireland Women in June 2018 to top the charts. Surprisingly, India all-rounder Deepti Sharma is in the list who scored 188 runs against Ireland. Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu is third on the list with 195* runs.

West Indies dominated the first match
Coming to the match, West Indies Women won the toss and opted to bat first. As captain and opener, Hayley Matthews and Realeanna Grimmond started brilliantly as they stitched a 128-run partnership for the first wicket. Continuing that, they scored 299/6 in 50 overs.
While chasing, only opener Modester Mupachikwa scored a fifty, as she played a knock of 86 runs; apart from that, no batters could get 30 runs, as the hosts were bowled out for 200 runs.
