Shivam Dube feels that a big knock is coming very soon from the bat of Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Virat Kohli, who had finished the Indian Premier League 2024 season as the highest run-getter, has experienced a difficult T20 World Cup so far. While opening the innings for the first time ever in a T20 WC with skipper Rohit Sharma, Kohli has not been able to replicate the form he had displayed in the IPL a few months ago.

Virat Kohli was literally wreaking havoc on opposing teams while opening for the RCB with skipper Faf du Plessis as the former amassed 741 runs from 15 matches. The highlight of the IPL 2024 season for Kohli was the strike rate in which he batted at - 150+, which is his highest ever in the history of the richest T20 league.

He was also responsible for Bengaluru's late charge in the IPL 2024 season which saw them win all of their last 7 matches after losing 6 games on the trot. Thanks to Virat Kohli's inspirational performances, RCB were able to have a top 4 finish before losing to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator match.

After seeing his 741-run 2024 season, the Indian team management decided to give him a go with Rohit Sharma up top but he hasn't performed that well. From the 3 group matches against Ireland, Pakistan, and USA, Virat Kohli has only scored 5 runs combined and the last group game against Canada will be his last chance to make amends and get his form back.

What did Shivam Dube say about Kohli's lean patch?

While speaking to media reporters recently, Shivam Dube shed light on Virat Kohli's lean run of form in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Dube claimed that he has nothing much to say in this regard because Kohli is a champion player who will stage his comeback with back-to-back centuries.

At least Shivam Dube has no doubts about this, regardless of what others think. "There is nothing I can say about Virat Kohli because I'm not Virat Kohli. His bad patch means he got out cheaply a couple of times but will come back scoring hundreds in the next three matches. We all know his game and how he plays," Shivam Dube said.

Can Virat Kohli stage a turnaround and become the highest run-scorer?

Virat Kohli stands as the only batsman in the history of the ICC T20 World Cups to become the highest run-scorer in two different editions. In his second T20 World Cup back in 2014, Kohli had won his first individual laurel before claiming his second in 2022 in Australia.

He is also the only player to have won the man of the tournament twice in his career with his first one coming in 2014 and the second one coming in 2016. In this edition, Kohli has not shown any signs of winning those two awards for the 3rd time but given the player he has been, he cannot be written off.
