"He has a big heart" - Arshdeep Singh hails Ravi Bishnoi’s impactful performance in Sri Lanka T20Is

Indian cricket team pacer Arshdeep Singh heaped praise on the leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi for his outstanding performances in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.

In a video shared by the BCCI on social media, Arshdeep highlighted Bishnoi's exceptional form, noting how quickly he has been taking wickets after his Player of the Match contribution in the second T20I.

In the rain-affected second T20I at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Bishnoi frustrated the Sri Lankan batters with his precise and deceptive spin. The young Indian leg-spinner's controlled and disciplined bowling ensured that the Sri Lanka team could not recover from the dramatic collapse, finishing with an incredible spell of 3/26 in his four overs.

Bishnoi played a crucial role in India's seven-wicket win over the Islanders in the second T20I on Sunday, July 28. With this victory, Team India clinched the ongoing three-match T20I series, with the final game set to be played in Kandy on July 30. He also had a good outing during India's 43-run win over Sri Lanka in the first T20I, finishing with impressive figures of 1/37.

After the Indian leg-spinner won the Player of the Match award, Arshdeep hailed Bishnoi by describing his teammate’s approach as energetic while hilariously saying that the latter is always in a hurry, whether taking wickets or eating. He also noted that Bishnoi’s enthusiasm and dedication are evident in his performances.

Arshdeep Singh said in a video posted by BCCI on social media platform X: “He's always in a hurry. He's taken three wickets in a hurry. It's a joke. Ravi Bishnoi has a big heart. He bowls with a lot of passion. He's getting a reward for it. Whenever he gets a chance, wherever he plays, he performs really well. As you can see, he bowled in the last match as well."

The T20 World Cup 2024 winner further emphasized Bishnoi’s remarkable ability to deliver under pressure, attributing his success to his intense passion for the game and the hard work he puts in behind the scenes, as the leg-spinner has continued to make significant contributions with the ball.

Speaking about the camaraderie within the team, Arshdeep revealed that the players maintain a positive atmosphere by joking around and having fun off the field, which translates into their on-field performances. He believes that this environment helps the players to give their best on the field, and it eventually leads to the Indian team’s success.

The Indian pacer signed off by saying, “Ravi took a wicket in the first match. He bowled well today as well. I guess he's getting the result of his hard work behind the scenes. We have a good vibe from the start. We keep joking around. We try to have fun off the field and perform well on the field.”
