Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram was stopped from entering the Optus Stadium in Perth, hosting the ongoing first Test of the three-match series between Australia and Pakistan. However, Wasim Akram handled the incident gracefully and refrained from making a fuss.

The Australian team are currently facing the Shan Masood-led team in the series opener. The home team posted a formidable total of 487 after opting to bat first in Perth. Veteran opener David Warner scored 164 runs off 211 balls, featuring 16 boundaries and four sixes.

In a video shared by cricket.com.au on X (formerly Twitter), Wasim Akram revealed that staff asked him to show his media card. When asked to show it again because the staff hadn’t seen his picture, Akram responded with humor, saying, “Here we go, buddy.”

“He said show me your card, and I did. He said, ‘No, show it again; I haven’t seen your picture.’ So I said, Here we go, buddy,” Wasim Akram said.

The home team began the second day with a total of 346/5, with Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey as overnight batters at the crease. The visiting team bowled out the opposition inside the first two sessions. Mitchell Marsh fell short of a century, being dismissed for 90 runs.

Debutant Aamir Jamal secured his maiden five-wicket haul, taking 6 wickets for 111 runs. The pacer dismissed key batters like Travis Head, David Warner, and Alex Carey. Khurram Shahzad claimed two wickets, while Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf contributed one each.

Openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq showed resistance against the Australian bowlers. The batting duo forged a partnership of more than 70 runs for the opening wicket. Pakistan will be hoping to score more runs and put the opposition under pressure.
