Pakistan were knocked out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 after losing to Sri Lanka in a nail-biting encounter during their last Super Four match of the tournament. The Babar Azam-led team suffered a heartbreaking defeat on the final ball of the match in Colombo on September 14.

The Babar Azam-led team set a target of 252 runs after choosing to bat first at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Thursday. However, the Men in Green failed to defend six runs on the last two balls. Charith Asalanka managed to secure a boundary and two runs off Zaman Khan’s bowling.

Win Or Lose Game, It Is A Part Of The Team – Azam Siddique

Following Pakistan’s elimination from the Asia Cup, Babar Azam‘s father, Azam Siddiqui, posted an emotional message in Urdu on his Instagram account. Siddiqui revealed that Babar Azam was left speechless by the loss and found it difficult to talk about it.

“Salam Pakistan. Pakistan played the whole match with half the players and lost on the last ball with a four of a flock. But in this match, I have been shown a total superstar bowler Zaman Khan, who was bowling very well even in high pressure. Win or lose game. It is a part of the team, but the team played the whole competition despite being in half,” wrote Siddiqui.

Babar Azam Was Not Able To Talkk – Azam Siddiqui

Azam Siddiqui emphasized the importance of patriotism and supporting the team during difficult times. Siddiqui expressed his hope for the availability of the injured players in the ODI World Cup 2023.

“Inshallah, when everyone is fit in the World Cup, it will be fun to see the competitions. Allah only sees what happens with intention and action from the heart.

“Whether he accepts it or not, He is my Lord. I think the team has sacrificed their lives. Let’s encourage the team at this time and make their hearts big. This is patriotism. Long live Pakistan. (I just talked to Babar, he was not able to talk. I told him, “Braves live or learn.” Never break),” he added.

The Babar Azam-led team will not play any series before the upcoming ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place in India from October 5 to November 19. The Men in Green will engage in two warm-up matches before the group stage matches.
