"Heartbroken..." - Mohammed Siraj Pens Emotional Message Days After India's World Cup Final Loss

Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was the bowler when Glenn Maxwell hit the winning runs in the World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. In the process, Australia won their sixth World Cup title while the Indian team looked in despair.
It was heartbreak for the Indian cricket team and their fans as their dream to win the World Cup title did not materialize. India’s unbeaten streak leading up to that game ended in a heartbreaking loss.
Siraj who was part of India’s formidable pace trio including Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah could not hold back his tears after the game and was seen crying after. On Thursday with the Indian cricket team all set to kick off a five-match T20I series against the same opponents, Siraj penned down a heartfelt message after India’s loss in the big final.
In a long message, he spoke about the Indian’s team journey in the World Cup and the heartbreak associated with it.

“Our campaign did not end like we wanted it to but representing India is the biggest honour and moment of pride for me. All I have ever wanted to do is represent my country.
“Heartbroken! Words can’t express the disappointment and hurt. It’s been a tough loss to take. This time might not have been god’s will but we aim to work harder each day to chase glory for our country!
“A big credit to our support staff, the unsung heroes who work so hard behind the scenes to provide us the care we need and help us prepare for games. Your contribution is immense to this team,” Mohammed Siraj added.
“Thank you to all our fans for your support. Seeing a sea of blue in the crowd is a feeling that can’t be matched. Grateful! The energy you provided was amazing, backing us all the way. Jai Hind!”
Mohammed Siraj ended the tournament with 14 wickets in the tournament with the best of 3/15 at an average of 33.50 and an economy of 5.68. He is among the many regular players rested from the T20I series against Australia.
