Heinrich Klaasen helps SRH post big total
Klaasen was the most expensive retention of the Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the mega auction, but he failed to play the knocks that were expected from him throughout the competition.
The Proteas batter played some impactful knocks, but he was unable to play a longer innings in the first 13 matches for his team. However, he made sure to finish the season on a high and win back the trust of the owners.
In the match between SRH and KKR, Heinrich Klaasen was sent to bat at the No.3 spot as the team management wanted to make the most of the start they got. Notably, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma stitched together 92 runs in 6.5 overs before the latter fell.
Klaasen looked in terrific touch with the bat while facing the KKR bowlers, and he switched on his beast mode. He decimated the KKR bowling unit and smashed the bowlers all over the park.
The right-handed batsman reached the three-figure mark on the last ball of the 19th over by taking a double off Vaibhav Arora's delivery. He remained unbeaten till the end with 105 runs in his bag off 39 balls, with 7 fours and 9 sixes. He batted with a strike rate of 269.23 and powered SRH to a total of 278/3.

Very pleased, it’s been a long season of disappointment - Heinrich Klaasen
Speaking during the mid-innings break, Klaasen expressed his delight over his brilliant ton against KKR in a forgettable IPL 2025 campaign. He said:
"Very pleased, it’s been a long season of disappointment. Luckily, I stuck to my processes and found my form now. The franchise spent a lot of time and money to play this brand of cricket, and it was up to us to step up to the mantle."
When he was asked about the pitch, Klaasen said that he tried to smash every ball for six, and hard lengths were a bit tougher to play. He stated:
"(On the pitch) I tried to hit every ball for six, there was a spell from Narine where it was quite difficult, but I tried to improvise. The hard lengths are a bit tougher to play."
