Herschelle Gibbs Names Three Players As His Favourites In T20 Internationals

Former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs in an interview with Cricket Pakistan revealed his favourite cricketers in the T20 format among the current players going around. Gibbs picked three of the best players in the modern era to be his favourites including Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, and Jos Buttler.
Gibbs has been in the news recently for involving in the Kashmir Premier League as he was all set to play for the Overseas Warriors in Muzaffarabad. Despite, the BCCI warning him about losing all cricket-related activities with them, Gibbs has been playing the inaugural edition of the tournament.

“There Is A Whole Lot You Can Rattle Off” – Herschelle Gibbs
Herschelle Gibbs found it hard to name just one player as his favourite T20 batsman and he included the modern-day greats like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in his favourite list. He segregated the categories for the various role and mentioned that there is a huge bunch of cricketers who have caught his eyes.
“There are the usual suspects as I would like to say. Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Jos Buttler. There are so many you know. There are some West Indians as well. It all depends, if you like top-order batsmen, power-hitters or finishers, there is a whole lot you can rattle off.
But, at this stage, Kohli, Babar Azam, Steve Smith. Obviously, AB de Villiers has retired from international cricket. The names go on and on. You name 6-7 or even 10 players,” Herschelle Gibbs in interaction with Cricket Pakistan.

Herschelle Gibbs Explains What Makes These Players Really Good
Herschelle Gibbs mentioned that the players he named among the favorites have all proved themselves on any surface and their skills are far superior to the other batsmen. He added that their hunger for runs drives their motivation and their ability to play with minimal risk has made them special.
“These players are good because they can play on all types of surfaces and not just on flat decks that are good for batting. They are very skillful on any surface and that is what makes them really good and separates them from the rest.
“The hunger that they have and play with, game after game, is what makes them great even in the T20 format. They never really give their wickets away easily. That is what makes them special in a lot of ways,” he added.

The T20 World Cup is about to start in a couple of months’ time and it will take place in UAE.
