India National Cricket Team all-rounder Riyan Parag talked about his relationship with senior batter Virat Kohli. He said that the former captain of the team is his idol and he has always looked up to him since his childhood.

India batter Virat Kohli has been one of the finest players to have played for the team. Not only because of his performances with the bat, but with the way he has carried himself and also how he has been the face of the game. His aggressive nature has been one of the highlights of his career and he no doubt is the idol of many.

One of the players who looks up to him is Riyan Parag. The young all-rounder possesses the same kind of nature as Virat Kohli and doesn't shy away from giving it back to the opposition players. He often has been in the headlines because of his nature and fights with the players.

Performance-wise, Riyan Parag has grown in leaps and bounds. The all-rounder after years of hard work has been finally reawarded and now has made it into the Indian team both in the one-day internationals as well as the T20 Internationals.

Riyan Parag since the last few years has been one of the consistent performers in the domestic circuit. He was failing to make a mark in the IPL but in the most recent edition of the league, he made sure that he ticked this box as well as he came up with magnificent outings for the Rajasthan Royals.

Riyan Parag was the third leading run-getter in the IPL 2024. He scored 573 runs in 16 matches to go with 4 half-centuries. He stood tall for his team in the big games as well under pressure situations and took them to victory. He batted at No.4 this season and repaid the faith of management.

After that Parag was named in the Indian team as well for the T20Is against Zimbabwe and after that was part of the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He then also made his debut in the ODIs. After his decent outings in the shorter format, he proved his prowess in the 50-over format as well.

In the third ODI against Sri Lanka, he made his debut and made an immediate impact. The all-rounder picked 3 wickets and also looked solid with the bat. Although he didn't have the runs he would've wanted he looked pleasing to the eyes as well.

Parag talked about sharing the dressing room with Virat Kohli, saying that it was a surreal feeling and a dream. come true moment for him. Speaking to Sports with Ravish, he explained:

"Virat Kohli is my Idol. I've always looked up to him. Sharing the dressing room with Virat bhaiya is surreal and a dream come true moment for me".

Riyan Parag also talked about the head coach Gautam Gambhir, saying that he gave him a lot of freedom, support, and clarity. He added:

"Gautam Gambhir has given me a lot of support, freedom and clarity".
