Delhi Police shared a witty post after the Rohit Sharma-led team's victory over the Australian team during the Super Eight match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Delhi Police's post has gone viral on social media after the Men in Blue advanced to the semi-finals of the ICC tournament in the West Indies and USA.

The Indian team continued their dominance by defeating Australia in their last Super 8 match. The Rohit Sharma-led side secured a 24-run victory in St. Lucia on Monday, June 24. Rohit Sharma was named "Player of the Match" for his masterful batting performance against the quality Australian bowling attack.

11 Indian Men Have ‘Stolen’ Over A Billion Hearts - Delhi Police

Delhi Police took to the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to celebrate India's victory over Australia. Delhi Police called the win revenge for the ODI World Cup loss to Australia on November 19, 2023. The post humorously stated that 11 Indian men have ‘stolen’ over a billion hearts.

“This Just In: In a ‘hits-and-runs’ incident in the Caribbean, 11 Indian men have ‘stolen’ over a billion hearts. Initial investigation points out the revenge of 19/11 as the motive,” wrote Delhi Police.

The Rohit Sharma-led side suffered a heartbreaking loss to Australia in the final of the ODI World Cup 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It is worth mentioning that the Indian team registered 10 consecutive victories in the World Cup, including a victory against New Zealand in the semi-finals.

Team India To Face England In Second Semi-Final In T20 World Cup 2024

The Indian team posted a formidable total of 205/5 in 20 overs after losing the toss. Rohit Sharma scored 92 runs off 41 deliveries, with the help of seven fours and eight sixes. Middle-order batters Suryakumar Yadav (31), Shivam Dube (28), and Hardik Pandya (27*) made valuable contributions with the bat.

In response, opener Travis Head played an impressive knock of 76 runs off 43 balls, including nine boundaries and four sixes. However, the other batters failed to deliver against the Indian bowling attack. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Head in the 17th over and changed the momentum in Team India's favor.

Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh picked up three wickets for 37 runs in his four overs. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav bagged two crucial wickets, including Glenn Maxwell, in his four overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel claimed one wicket each in India's 24-run victory in the last Super 8 match.

Team India will face England in the second semi-final match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, June 27. The Men in Blue will hope to take revenge against England for their 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final loss. England defeated India by 10 wickets to claim their second T20 World Cup title.
