Virat Kohli is an idol and inspiration for millions of fans and budding cricketers across the world, as is the young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel. As Kohli completed an incredible 16 years in international cricket on August 18, Jurel couldn’t contain his admiration for the Indian legend.

The young wicketkeeper batter not only expressed his respect for Kohli but also revealed his strong ambition to emulate the former Indian cricket team captain. Jurel also revealed a particular quality in Kohli that resonates with him; he aspires to integrate it into his playing style.

Describing Kohli as a cricket legend, Jurel said that he always tries to learn from the Indian cricket team's batting maestro, focusing on understanding the dedication and work that shaped his success.

The youngster said that whenever he interacts with Kohli, he is captivated by his presence and the powerful aura that surrounds him, as he paid tribute to the modern-era great on completing 16 years in international cricket.

Jurel said that Kohli’s aura inspires him to strive for a similar impact in his own career, as he is trying to develop the qualities that make others look up to him. Kohli's 16 years of dominance in international cricket serve as a powerful motivation and inspiration for Jurel, as he is keen on incorporating that same level of influence and excellence into his game.

Dhruv Jurel was quoted as saying by Sports Tak: “I always try to learn because he is a legend of cricket. So, I think how he was made, what he did in the background. always curious to learn new things. So, whenever I talked to him, I only talked about cricket and when you are around him, you feel that aura that Virat Kohli is there.”

Jurel added, “So that is a good thing that we feel that we have to do something that we also feel that people have come to ask, that there is aura. Because he has played for like 16 years for India and he has always dominated. So that thing is very inspiring. So, I will try to bring that thing in.”

Meanwhile, Jurel made his India debut under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, and he described the Indian skipper’s approach to interacting with teammates as relaxed and approachable.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) player revealed that Rohit treats everyone equally, whether senior or junior, and he is always open to offering help and creating a comfortable environment for all players.

Jurel signed off by saying, “To be honest, he is very chill. He will talk to you. He is not like you are a senior or junior. He always talks very casually. If you need any help, just come over. I don't have any problems. He is normal. He makes you feel comfortable.”

Notably, Jurel has so far appeared in three Test matches for Team India, amassing 190 runs with a highest score of 90. Additionally, during India's recent tour of Zimbabwe, the wicketkeeper played in two T20I matches, where he could score just six runs but played a key role behind the stumps.
