Nitish Reddy has issued a clarification after landing in a huge controversy because of his recent comments on former India skipper MS Dhoni.

The Andhra star has been facing the flak from the fans after a couple of videos went viral on social media. In the media, Nitish Reddy spoke about the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. The youngster cited the example of Dhoni to make a point, saying that mindset is more important than technique.

"Dhoni has talent, in the sense that.... talent is there but the technique is not there. Dhoni doesn't have Virat Kohli's range of techniques," Reddy had said in the video.

However, his comments did not go down well with many as the fans slammed the youngster for taking a dig at the legendary player's technique. And on Sunday (June 2), Nitish Reddy took to Instagram to react to the controversy as he issued a clarification.

He began by calling himself a huge admirer of the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman before clarifying that he chose MS Dhoni over any other cricketer to prove that mindset is the most important factor. He also alleged that his comments were taken out of context while also alleging that 'few people' had cropped the video to spread negativity.

"I've always been a huge admirer of Mahi bhai. The question was about skill or mindset, which is the most important factor. I chose mindset, taking Dhoni bhai's example.

"I believe that mindset is the most crucial factor in determining success. What I said in my previous interview was taken out of context, with few people cropping out the video. Let's not spread negativity, without hearing the full story," wrote Nitish Reddy.
