It is being said that Yashasvi Jaiswal got hit by a ball on his back while fielding during net sessions at WACA. However, there was no major damage, as the left-hander returned to batting practice at the WACA Ground in Perth.
According to Sports Tak, the Indian opener batted more than 35 minutes after getting hit by the ball on his back at the WACA Ground, and he is fit to feature in the first Test against Australia at Perth's Optus Stadium.
This scare adds to India’s growing injury concerns, with key batter Shubman Gill already battling fitness issues in the lead-up to the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia. Gill’s participation is already under the dark clouds in the first couple of matches on the tour.
Well, Yashasvi Jaiswal is expected to play a key role at the top of the order as Team India gears up to defend their Border-Gavaskar Trophy crown on Australian soil. They are aiming to record a hat trick of Test series wins over the Kangaroos in Australia.
Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma to miss Perth Test against Australia
Meanwhile, India's preparations for the crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 have hit a snag as Shubman Gill sustained a thumb fracture during a match simulation at WACA. Gill sustained that injury while fielding at slip, and he is now expected to miss the Test series opener.
