India’s prestigious Vijay Hazare trophy has been making headlines. The 50-over competition has seen some remarkable performances. Recently, N Jagadeesan is riding high on confidence after smashing a record back to back 5 centuries in the championship and has been unstoppable.

The Championship is considered to be the stepping stone for getting a chance into the national team. The fast bowler Kuldeep Sen who took 17 wickets in 6 matches got a call-up for the Bangladesh ODI Series. The pacer is also the wicket-taker of the tournament.

Riyan Parag on Call-up

Riyan Parag was having an interaction with Sportskeeda and made some interesting comments on his performance. “I think I have had a good Syed Mushtaq Ali and I am having a decent Vijay Hazare – with both bat and ball. If we (Assam) can win the quarterfinals, make the semis and final, some of the boys can get India A call-ups or anything like that. Because we never qualified, our names didn’t come up. So this time, maybe, I am hoping for an India A call-up, and the India one in the near future.” said Riyan Parag.

Riyan Parag an Interesting Prospect

The Cricketer has been associated with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL. The all-rounder has played 47 matches where he has scored 522 runs at a strike rate of 124.88 and has taken 4 wickets. He has been quite an integral part of the RR setup. The batter has some brutal hitting ability and at the same time, he can provide some overs to the team.

India has been missing a spin bowling all-rounder and in the 1st ODI against New Zealand, we saw how India struggled in the absence of the 6th bowler. England Cricket Team has the luxury of spin bowling all-rounders present in the form of Moeen Ali & Liam Livingstone who have the knack to be game-changers for the team. It would be interesting to see whether the all-rounder gets a chance into the India A squad as there is cut-throat competition in the Indian circuit.
