The South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has recently opened up on the difficulties inside the bio bubble and compared themselves with the caged circus animals. The Covid-19 protocols have been so strict to keep the internationals games going but a slight relaxation has already allowed increasing the number of cases inside the bio bubble.

It puts the whole series in jeopardy and postponing it might not be the best possible solution. Strict bio bubble restrictions are very hard for the international cricketers and such has been the effect of the pandemic in the world at the moment. The quarantines have led to two different teams for the same nation playing at the same time and India will soon field a second team for three limited-overs games against Sri Lanka.

Tabraiz Shamsi Reveals The Difficulties Of Strict Bio Bubbles

Tabraiz Shamsi revealed that the strict protocols aren’t easy to take and the impact can be of the highest order from these restrictions. He added that the families and their lives outside of cricket have to be sacrificed to entertain the crowds coming to the grounds and he compared the feeling to a caged circus animal.

“I don’t think everyone truly understands the impact these things have on us, our families and our lives outside of cricket. Sometimes it just feels like we are caged circus animals who only get taken outside when it’s time to practice and play matches to entertain the crowds,” Tabraiz Shami tweeted.

ECB Decides To Provide Relaxations Inside Bio Bubble

The chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Tom Harrison mentioned that playing for a country or a franchise should be felt good, and hence, the restrictions have to be slightly relaxed so that their mental aspects remain calm.

“We want people feeling good about going out and playing in whatever tournament they’re playing in, whether that’s the Hundred, whether that’s a Test series against India, whether that is county cricket and the RL50. We want people to be feeling like their life is delivering for them, both at home and as professional cricketers, men and women”.

“We don’t want to be closeting players in such a place where they feel like the only role they play in their life is to go out and bat and bowl for whatever team they’re playing,” Tom Harrison quoted.
